Prof. Dr. Bassam G. Rasheed is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad. He holds a Ph.D. in Laser Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi (2002) and has served in significant academic leadership roles, including Head of the Laser & Optoelectronics Engineering Department (2014–2019). His extensive research career spans over three decades, with a specialized focus on laser physics, nanotechnology, optoelectronics, and laser-material interaction. Prof. Rasheed has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in international journals and is an active member of the Iraqi Physics Society and the Iraqi Laser and Optoelectronics Society.

Prof. Dr. Yousif Ismail Mohammed Al-Mashhadany is a director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center. Senior Member IEEE, He received a B.Sc. (1995), M.Sc. (1999), and Ph.D (2010) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Rashid School of Engineering and Science / University of Technology in Baghdad/Iraq. He completed postdoctoral fellow research in the electrical engineering control department at the University of Malaya in Malaysia (UMPEDAC) 2012.
He has worked since 2004, as a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering / Engineering College / University of Anbar. He has many publications including three books, two chapters, thirty-seven journal papers (Clarivate, Scopus, and international journal), and thirty-two conference papers. He has a 17 on the H-index with Scopus, 20 H-index with Google Scholar, and 11 H-index in Web. of Sciences with 310 reviews. Editor-in-Chief with Anbar Journal of Engineering Science.

Dr. Haider Raad is a faculty in the Physics Department where he oversees the Engineering program and serves as the director of the Wearable Electronics Research Center (XWERC).
Dr. Raad's project seeks to develop and test a wearable electronic device to prevent against airborne viruses, such as SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19). This device would both limit the need for disposable masks and make protection against airborne and droplet-borne viruses more effective and convenient for the general public.

Dr. Sabeeh Lafta Farhan is a Professor and the Vice-Chancellor of Wasit University, Waist- Iraq. With more than 27 years of academic and professional experience, Dr. Farhan also serves as an academic and faculty member at the Department of Architecture, the College of Engineering at Wasit University. His postdoctoral research is from Nottingham Trent University, UK, 2018. He received his PhD (2012), and MSc (2009) in Architecture and Urban Design, both from Baghdad University. His BSc in Architecture is from the University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq, 1993.
Dr. Farhan is an academic visitor at Nottingham Trent University - Centre of Architecture, Urbanism and Global Heritage (CAUGH), School of Architecture, Design and Built Environment (2017-2018). His major research focus is on the preservation of the high-profile historical cities and sites, and reviving the tangible and intangible heritage of Iraq.
Dr. Farhan also served at different leading positions such as the Municipality Manager (2002-2005), and the Governor Deputy for technical affairs (2005-2013), of Wasit Governorate – Iraq.
Dr. Farhan is currently the Co-Investigator of two international research projects led by the Nottingham Trent University, the first is funded by AHRC: Heritage Borders of Engagement Network (ENGAGE). The second is funded by the British Academy: Preserving the Disappearing Cultural Heritage of Post-War Mosul, Iraq: Valuing Diversity in the Urban Recovery of Mosul’s Old Districts

Gehan Selim is the Hoffman Wood Professor of Architecture and Deputy Director at Leeds Social Sciences Institute at the University of Leeds. She was Fellow of the Senator George Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice (2016/17). She obtained a PhD in Architecture from the University of Sheffield and held permanent posts in several international schools of Architecture in the Middle East and the UK. Selim’s architectural practice experience includes designing a wide range of urban housing and educational projects, exhibitions and schools. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching, developing and delivering courses in architecture and urban design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She serves on the editorial board and scientific committee of several international journals and conferences. Dr Selim is an affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and an Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HE).
Prof Selim's teaching aims to develop sufficient integration between the design studios and architectural representation. She supervises a growing number of Postgraduate Dissertations (MArch, MSc & PhD) exploring themes of cultural heritage and digital applications, segeragation and contested spaces and new global trends that shape the architectural practice. Gehan is widely committed to providing balanced experiences in learning by promoting a variety of teaching approaches, such as peer learning and reflection. She is interested in encouraging students to be critical of their education, build confidence and self-motivation, which should enable Architecture students' full engagement in a healthy teaching and learning environment.

Dr. Hussein Znad is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering in the Western Australia School of Mine: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM:MECE) at Curtin University, Australia. He is also the founder and chair for Australia-Japan Network for Energy Transition & Critical Materials, fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Aquatic Plants (Elsevier).
Hussein has more than 18 years of experience in microalgae and algal environmental applications, resources recovery, the development of catalytic, photocatalytic, and biocatalytic processes for wastewater treatment, CO2 mitigation, biomass, and biofuel production (biohydrogen and biodiesel), with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, with an h-index of +37 according to the SCOPUS database (h-index=+42 Google Scholar). Hussein is a recipient of the 2022 Curtin University Aspire Award, the 2020 Faculty Global Positioning Award, and many Japanese research grants (JSPS 2007-2009, MIF 2005, Tokyo Tech 2018; HORN 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2023). Hussein had several leadership roles, School Director of Graduate Research (2018 -2023), Major undergraduate course coordinator for Chemical Engineering (2015-2022), and School International Coordinator (2018-2022).
Hussein is currently serve as an Associate Editor for AJSE-Chemical Engineering (Springer), Guest Editor for Scientific Reports (Springer Nature), and Editorial Board member for Science of the Total Environment (Elsevier) and Molecules (Green Chemistry) (MDPI). Hussein is also a visiting Professor at Fukuoka University in Japan, and adjunct Associate Professor at School of Engineering, ECU, Australia. Executive Committee member and Western Australia representative for Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Alumni Association in Australia (JSPSAAA).

Prof. Hassan Hemida is a Professor in Computational Mechanics at the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Birmingham. He currently serves as Head of the Fluids Group and Deputy Director of Research at the School. He is also an executive committee member and the European and African representative of the International Association of Wind Engineering. Prof. Hemida earned his PhD in Thermofluids (2006–2008) and an Engineering Licentiate in Aerodynamics (2002–2006) from the Department of Applied Mechanics at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. He also holds an MSc (1997–2000) and BSc (1990–1995, with honors) in Mechanical Power Engineering from Mansoura University, Egypt. His earlier career includes roles as a Consultant Engineer at Epsilon in Sweden, a Research Fellow and full-time PhD student at Chalmers University, and a Teaching Assistant at Mansoura University. Dr. Sreenilayam is Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Dublin City University since June 2023. Dr Sreenilayam is a Principal Investigator in the Advanced Processing Technology Research Centre, Dublin City University and Funded Investigator in the I-Form, The SFI Research Centre for Advanced Manufacturing. She received M.Sc. in physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, India, and Ph.D. in Soft Matter Physics from the Technological University Dublin (TUD), Ireland. Her Ph.D. focused on fundamental soft matter physics underpinning the next generation of novel functional materials.
