Appeals and Complaints

 

Al-Nahrain Journal for Engineering Sciences (NJES) is committed to a transparent and fair publishing process. We view complaints as an opportunity to improve our scientific integrity and manuscript processing system.

Before submitting a complaint, authors are advised to read all journal guidelines and policies regarding the processing and publication of manuscripts.

1. How to File a Complaint Authors and scholars have the right to complain or ask for an explanation if they perceive any misconduct or violation of ethical guidelines. Complaints can be raised through the following channels:

  • Email: Send details to [email protected] or [email protected].

  • Physical Letter: Submit a formal letter to the Journal Office at the College of Engineering / Al-Nahrain University.

2. Categorization of Complaints Complaints may be submitted regarding any of the following issues:

  • Scientific Misconduct: Plagiarism, copyright violation, data fabrication, or falsification of results.

  • Process Violations: Unrevealed conflicts of interest, bias in the review process, or confidentiality breaches.

  • Editorial Service: Unusually long delays in manuscript processing or unsatisfactory peer-review comments.

  • Authorship: Disputes regarding authorship or contributorship.

3. Policy for Dealing with Complaints All complaints are handled in a polite and timely manner, maintaining the utmost confidentiality.

  • Acknowledgment: Once a complaint is received, an acknowledgement is sent to the complainant assuring them that appropriate action will be taken within three working days (excluding the date of receipt).

  • Investigation: The investigation process is initiated by the Journal Editorial Team under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Resolution: After the investigation is complete, a meeting is held to review the full report. A final decision is recorded in the system and forwarded to the concerned scholar via email.

  • Legal Escalation: For complex legal disputes, the matter may be coordinated with the Legal Department of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University.
